In-line Heat sealing system with an integrated Bosch transfer belt.

The system is for integration into a customers existing production line or into a planned line.

Incoming workpieces or workpiece carriers are automatically indexed to and worked on in the heat sealing station.

Standard Heat Seal System/Heat Seal System HS40iXXL Stand-alone system with 2-position turntable.

High accuracy temperature regulation to suit the pulse heating technique.

Heating rails from 5 to 300mm can be connected.

Pneumatic adjustment of the heat seal head with respect to the product.

The heating rails are semi-gimballed and the suspension is a balancing system to create an even co-planar application of the heater rails to the sealing faces.

There is automatic compensation for known imbalances of the product. There is triple temperature monitoring of the heater rails and the smallest temperature irregularity is identified by the system.

Optionally, the heat seal head can be fitted with an integrated force- and path measurement system.

For most applications, a thermally conductive silicon belt is inserted between the heater rail and the product.

This belt protects the heater rail and the product from the transient very high forces which are necessary for the heat sealing process and improves product quality by better distribution of the adhesive, especially on the circuit board side.

Heat Seal-Know How

Heat seal joints are carried out with so-called “anisotropically conductive adhesives”.

 

In this way, for example, flexible foils are contacted with conductor paths (FPC) on circuit boards or the glass-connection face of an LCD or OLED module.

 

Anistropic adhesives are filled with electrically conductive particles. These particles are so small that an electrically conductive connection in the X- or pressure direction is created, while there is no contact in the Z-direction.

 

On the application of heat (around 140ºC) and pressure (14-17 Kg/cm²), the adhesive begins to flow. When the adhesive cools under pressure, the conductive particles are “frozen” in position and retain their conductivity.
